In August 2014, Mary joined RefugePoint as the Livelihoods Associate. Her main tasks include conducting livelihood assessments and business trainings, grant issuance and business monitoring for urban refugee clients. Mary has a comprehensive background in business development having worked with a local NGO to help young women in informal sectors start and grow their businesses. Notably, Mary is happy that some of the businesses she helped start 6 years ago with an initial capital of only 300 Kshs. ($4) have survived to date. Mary holds a Bachelor of Education degree with a major in Commerce and a minor in Economics. She is also a Higher Diploma holder in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management.
